Overview
Directed a 4-minute narrative AI film for Fellowship AI's curated "Tales from the Cryptids" exhibition. Orchestrated a 6-tool AI production suite to create complete cinema-quality storytelling from concept through delivery, proving AI tools can serve narrative depth, not just visual spectacle.
The Challenge
Creating emotionally resonant narrative through AI tools designed primarily for image generation and technical execution. Most AI film experiments at the time focused on visual spectacle without narrative coherence. The challenge was architecting a workflow where each AI tool served a specific production function (concept art, voice performance, video generation, score composition) while maintaining emotional through-line across all elements.
The Approach
Built a production workflow mirroring traditional film: Midjourney for visual development and styleframes, Magnific AI for refinement, ChatGPT for iterative script development, Eleven Labs for voice direction, Runway ML for shot-by-shot video generation, and Suno for original score. The narrative follows 1960s teenagers who discover Mothman, an interdimensional being, in an abandoned West Virginia TNT factory. He becomes their mentor before returning home through a portal, leaving behind "The Moth Academy" legacy. Mid-production, I recognized the work lacked emotional weight and composed the complete six-part musical score, demonstrating adaptive creative judgment beyond technical execution.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
The Result
Fellowship AI / Daily "Tales from the Cryptids" Exhibition, curated by Historic Crypto. The film positioned AI narrative work as serious creative practice, not experimentation.
Strategic Context
